Participation of the Leadership of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment in a Joint Meeting with Sectoral Authorities, Provincial Representatives, Trade Union Heads, the Transport Association, Businesspeople, Investors, Industrialists, and Drivers to Discuss Cross-Border Transport Challenges
In this initial meeting, Mr. Mohammad Younus Qazizadah, Head of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, emphasized that the leadership of the Chamber, in coordination with the local administration of Herat Province and all sectoral heads, is actively working to assess and resolve all existing challenges related to the transportation and movement of commercial goods across both sides of the border. He further stated that the cooperation of traders, investors, and drivers is essential for the full resolution of these issues.
Participants in the meeting included Mr. Alhaj Abdullah Dashti, Deputy for Services at the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment; Mr. Farhad Farahi, Board Member of the Chamber; Mr. Serajuddin Faqiri, Private Sector Development Expert from the Provincial Governor’s Office; the honorable Head of Customs; the Head of Road Transport; the Deputy of Industry and Commerce; the representative from the Ministry of Public Works; the Head of the Rozanak Railway Station; the Head of the Transport Companies Union; the Deputy of the Petroleum Importers Union; and other trade union leaders and businessmen.
The discussions initially focused on transport and fare issues, followed by a review of challenges related to the special economic zone. Several important resolutions were made during the meeting, and all parties reached a consensus on them.
