Meeting Between the Leadership of Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Head of Iran Rail Consortium

A meeting was held between the respected leadership of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the esteemed Head of the Iran Rail Consortium to discuss solutions to certain existing issues along the Herat-Khaf railway line.

At the beginning of the meeting, Alhaj Mohammad Latif Qanawizian, First Deputy of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, and Alhaj Abdullah Dashti, Service Deputy of the Chamber, welcomed the Herat-Khaf railway operations. They expressed that although the project is active, there are still challenges along the route that must be addressed in order to develop the railway industry in both Afghanistan and Iran and to strengthen this important transit corridor.

Also in this meeting, Mr. Mostafa Rezaei, Head of the Iran Rail Consortium, stated that despite its short period of operation, the Khaf-Herat railway has gained the satisfaction of the private sectors in both Afghanistan and Iran. He added that further efforts will be made to facilitate the transit of commercial goods for traders and industrialists from both sides. He emphasized that with the cooperation of the leadership of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, they are working to resolve the existing challenges.
