At the outset, the project's technical officer welcomed the chamber's leadership and stated that the presence of private sector representatives brings encouragement and motivation to the technical team. He emphasized that the support of economic institutions and chambers of commerce plays a decisive role in the successful implementation of such national projects. He further added that approximately 650 million USD will be invested in three phases for the exploration, extraction, and processing of this mine.

The Hajigak iron mine, considered one of the largest iron ore deposits in the country, holds significant potential to become a major industrial hub and a leading source of iron production in the region.

Zekria Noori, the Executive Director of the Maidan Wardak Chamber of Commerce and Investment, while presenting technical and economic details about the project, stated that this major initiative will be implemented jointly in partnership with a foreign company. He explained that as part of the project, a modern factory will be established with a daily production capacity of 9,000 tons of iron and sponge iron. In addition to industrial output, the project will create over 6,000 direct jobs and thousands of indirect employment opportunities for the local population.

At the End, Alhaj Noor Agha Ebrahimi, Chairman of the Maidan Wardak Chamber of Commerce and Investment, remarked that despite Afghanistan’s vast mineral resources, the country has not been able to effectively benefit from these opportunities due to weak industrial infrastructure and ongoing economic challenges. He emphasized that the implementation of this project will not only meet domestic demand but also pave the way for iron exports to regional countries, marking a new chapter in the nation’s industrial and economic development.
