Afghanistan dried fruits market and exhibition, constructed as a public–private partnership project between Kabul municipality and a private company at a cost of approximately 240 million Afghanis, was officially inaugurated and put into operation today during a ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by the Investment deputy of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI), the commercial deputy and the chief executive of the Kabul Chamber of Commerce and Investment (KCCI), officials from the ministry of industry and commerce, the ministry of information and culture, Kabul municipality, as well as a large number of traders and heads of unions.
Mr. Arian Zulgai Azimi, investment deputy of ACCI, described the opening of this market and exhibition as an important step toward the growth of the dried fruits sector and, on behalf of the chamber of commerce and Investment, pledged cooperation in facilitating the sale of dried fruit products in foreign markets, especially in European countries and Turkey.
Other respected officials and speakers also addressed the importance of this market and exhibition, considering its inauguration a valuable step toward the organization and development of the country’s dried fruits sector.
The aforementioned market and exhibition have been constructed within the premises of the historic Behzad cinema, with a capacity of approximately 190 shops and a permanent exhibition hall, in the Bagh-e-Qazi area of Kabul city.
