The inauguration ceremony of the 200 MW wind power plant project (first phase with a capacity of 43.2 MW) and a 5 MW solar power plant in Herat province was held with the participation of the leadership of the Islamic Government of Afghanistan and representatives of the country's private sector.
During the event, the respected Deputy for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Government of Afghanistan, officials from the Ministry of Economy, the General Directorate of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the leadership of Herat’s local administration, the leadership of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Investment, and representatives of the Turkish construction company responsible for the project spoke about the significance of the inauguration and emphasized that more efforts than ever will be made for the development and prosperity of Afghanistan.
Mr. Mohammad Younus Mohmand, First Deputy of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, also attended and, on behalf of the private sector, expressed appreciation for the efforts and cooperation of the Islamic Government of Afghanistan in strengthening private sector activities, stating that Afghan traders and investors are more committed than ever to contributing to the country’s economic growth.
It is worth mentioning that the Turkish company 77 Construction, in partnership with DABS, will complete the 200 MW wind power project in Herat at an estimated cost of nearly $250 million. Additionally, the private company Etimad Solar will generate 5 MW of solar electricity.
